Painting with a Twist recap

outside painting with a twist

Thank you Painting with a Twist in Live Oak for hosting our fundraiser. Because of their generosity, Overcomers raised $1,252 to help support our new program launching in May. This program will be our Thrive to a Beautiful You Workshop.

This will be a hands on workshop to anyone affected by breast cancer. In this workshop, participants will learn about skincare and makeup application to help restore a sense of confidence and educate them on making positive safe choices to live a healthier and less harmful life. Above all, this workshop will be more than just makeup. This workshop will empower women to embrace their inner strengths and imperfections. While aligning their inner and outer beauty to become confident in their own skin. The Thrive to Beautiful You Workshop is going to create a movement towards a mindful, healthier way of living as survivors. Overcomers hopes to do more Painting with a Twist fundraisers in the future.

2018 #GivingTuesday Recap

Thank you so much!

Overcomers had an extremely generous #GivingTuesday! With your help, we were able to raise $365 dollars this year, to help families in the San Antonio area who are facing breast cancer. Thank you to all of your generous donations!

What next?

December 22nd, Overcomers will be delivering presents for our annual Pink under the Tree program.   We started this program last year and it was a true blessing to everyone involved.  Our program was designed to help alleviate a little of the financial burden of breast cancer survivors as they face increasing medical bills and expenses because of their treatments.  We have adopted 13 families this season to buy Christmas presents for because of the generosity of the funds that were raised during our October fundraisers.  Thank you to everyone who participated with their time, giving and prayers.  Our heart’s desire is to help in our communities one life at a time because we know the importance of being a part of a family that empathizes and understands with compassion what you are walking.

Overcomers October Fundraising Recap 2018

Our October fundraising was a huge success!

Introduction

Overcomers is very grateful to all of our donors for our 2018 October Fundraising season! We were able to raise $1373 to aid in our Pink under the Tree program. Below we will share a recap of all of the events in October that helped us reach this donation amount.

Brighton Power of Pink Fundraiser

Overcomers had the amazing opportunity to partner with Brighton La Cantera to help us raise $335  to add to our total. Throughout October, Overcomers volunteers manned a table at the Brighton La Cantera location, sharing with shoppers how Overcomers provides support for breast cancer survivors for the community of San Antonio and surrounding areas. Special thanks to PRMA, The Pink Boutique, and the Methodist Hospital nurse navigators.

Kendra Scott Gives Back Event with Overcomers

On October 5, Kendra Scott at La Cantera was having a fundraiser event with Overcomers. We were able to raise $718!  The turnout for this event was amazing! We saw so many familiar faces and were able to share the news of Overcomers with so many new ones. Our awesome board member, Jennifer Lee, took some beautiful photos of the event. You can view some of them below:

Overcomers Facebook Fundraising

Through generous donations from our friends on Facebook, we were able to raise over $300! Thank you to all of you who donated and helped make all of our facebook fundraisers a success! We were amazed by the support of all the people on social media.

What’s Next?

Overcomers will be delivering Christmas presents to families affected by breast cancer who otherwise would not be able to afford presents, which we are calling, Pink Under the Tree. (Note: Overcomers is not taking applications, but is partnering with local nurse navigators to select families who most need these presents.) We thank all of our donors who make this possible. I urge you to like and follow our Facebook Page, as I know we will be posting more information about this program in the future.

Did you attend one of these events or have any feedback on a fundraiser we should do in the future? Let us know in the comments!
