Survivor Workshops Spring and Fall Learn More Every

Who is Overcomers?

Overcomers is a breast cancer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a sisterhood for breast cancer survivors. Our mission is to be real in sharing our needs, build strong foundational relationships, and walk out our journey in victory serving others in our circle of influence. Together we can rebuild lives one piece at a time. We offer a 9-week faith centered workshop for breast cancer survivors in the spring and fall every year, one-day workshops for the spouses of breast cancer survivors, annual retreats for breast cancer survivors, and adopting breast cancer families during the holidays. These classes focus weekly on different topics and address many of the concerns that face breast cancer survivors following active treatment.

Testimonials

Overcomers was a critical part of my healing. Once all my treatment was finished, I found myself in a “funk”. I thought that the hardest part of my cancer journey was the initial news of the diagnosis and the treatment I underwent to fight off the cancer. I had it all wrong. With the help of Overcomers, I soon realized that the most challenging part for me was post cancer. I couldn’t understand why I was feeling the way I was. I beat cancer! Shouldn’t I feel on top of the world? I was supposed to feel like a weight was lifted from my shoulders, but what I didn’t know was that I was emotionally broken! I hadn’t dealt with the emotional part of this disease. I was in a fight-or- flight response the entire time just trying to do what I needed to survive. I didn’t have time to deal with all the different emotions that come with cancer. And there are many! Overcomers supported me in healing my emotional brokenness and put me on a healing path of hope and joy. An extra bonus was meeting so many strong, inspirational women along the way!

Volunteering with Overcomers has been an amazing experience. Not only is it a great place to volunteer, but the changes you see in the women’s lives spiritually, mentally, and physically that go through the workshops is incredible. If you are a breast cancer survivor looking for a workshop, I highly recommend Overcomers!

What a blessing Overcomers has been in my life. This faith based, support group addresses the difficult obstacles a breast cancer survivor endures. Each week was a new, valuable topic with different mentors and members of the medical community, sharing inspiration and coping tools, all the while providing a safe environment of reflection and conversation. I am so very thankful and blessed to have participated and cherish all of the individuals who have contributed love and support, along our journey.
